  • Do you have a shop/ where is your shop?

    Our shop sells a range freshly baked cakes as well as delicious coffee and milkshakes.

  • Do you do wholesale?

    No, sorry but we bake all of our products fresh ready to sell direct to our customers.

  • Do you make gluten free / Vegan / Nut / Dairy / Egg free products?

    Nope sorry. All of our products contain eggs, flour and milk. As we use nuts in our kitchen, none of our products are ‘nut free’. However, not all of our products have nuts in the ingredients.

  • Can I reserve?

    No, sorry. All of our products are first come first served. We keep it that way to be fair to everyone and plus, if we took reservations, we would be spending all our time on the phone putting things back.

  • How much are your cakes?

    Our prices vary depending on what you choose and the size or style of bake you are after.

    We have an ever-evolving range, from traybakes and whoopie cookies to cupcakes and newly created bakes. You can explore our full selection on the Bakes pages to see what we are currently making.

    If you fancy a bit of mix and match, you can also Build Your Own Box and fill it with only the flavours you love.

    For something a little more time-sensitive, our Limited Edition Bakes page is where you will find seasonal treats for occasions such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Easter, Father’s Day, Halloween and Christmas. These ranges change throughout the year, so it is always worth taking a look to see what we have up our sleeves.

  • Do you have a menu / flavour list?

    We change our flavours every week to keep things interesting. We decide which flavours to bake the day before so aren’t able to say what flavours we will have when you are visiting. 

  • Do you make birthday / wedding cakes?

    We don’t currently make traditional tiered birthday or wedding cakes.

    Instead, we focus on creating bold, indulgent bakes that feel just as special but with a Big Bakes twist. If you’re celebrating something important, our Party Bakes page is a great place to start.

    You will find options such as our brownie towers, which make a brilliant centrepiece and offer something a little different from a classic sponge cake. They are perfect for birthdays, weddings and all sorts of celebrations.

  • How should I store the cakes I bought?

    Fresh is always best but if you want to save your treats for a couple of days, here is how:

    Cupcakes – At their best for 2 days if kept in an airtight container. No need to refrigerate as cake is
    best at room temperature.

    Brownies/traybakes – these can be kept air tight in the fridge for 2 weeks after purchase.

    Whoopie cookies – At their best for 4 days if kept in an airtight container. No need to refrigerate as cookies are best at room temperature. You can pop these in the microwave for a couple of seconds if you fancy them soft.

  • Do I have to pay a deposit?

    We take payment in full to secure an order in the diary. We don’t take deposit amounts to decrease admin time which allows us to run our business more smoothly. If you cancel more than 2 weeks in advance then we give a 50% refund, if we have less than 2 weeks’ notice you will receive 25% refund. Orders cancelled with less than 1 week notice will not receive a refund.

  • Why does it say out of stock?

    We are only a small team so can only bake a certain amount each day, if something is out of stock then please check back on our next restock. Our website gets restocked twice a week. Friday at 18:00 and Monday at 12:00.

    We always recommend to be on the website on the restock days at the restock time to guarantee you to get what you want, depending on how busy we are will depend on how long the items are available for (for example weeks like Valentine’s, Easter and Christmas sell out much quicker than a normal week).

  • When will my order be shipped?

    All orders are freshly baked the day before dispatch. Orders placed from Monday or Tuesday get baked on Wednesday and then dispatched on Thursday. Orders placed from Wednesday – Sunday are baked fresh on Monday and dispatched on Tuesday. Unless otherwise stated/ advertised. For example, a last-minute offer box may be dispatched on a different day – however, this will be advertised when ordering. We dispatch with Royal Mail 24h tracked, 90% of these orders are then delivered the day after dispatch, however, Royal Mail states this service is 1-3 working days for delivery from dispatch. We cannot be held responsible for delays caused by Royal Mail.

  • Why haven’t I had a confirmation for my order?

    Please check your emails inbox / junk folder, if it’s not there, you may have not have left an email address to receive one or you may have entered your email address wrong. If the money has left your bank account, then we have your order. 

  • Do you have a refund policy?

    As our products are food and cannot be resold once they’ve been dispatched from us, we cannot refund your order unless there is an exceptional circumstance. For example, if your bakes are totally squashed/ damaged upon arrival then we will look at placing a claim through Royal Mail (obviously boxes are in perfect condition when they leave us so we will attempt to claim through them to refund you) Unfortunately slight damage won’t be acceptable. If an address is incorrect, we can’t be held responsible once the parcel leaves us and we will not refund for this mistake.

  • My postal order hasn’t arrived within 24 hours, what should I do?

    Unfortunately, even though we use Royal Mail tracked 24, it is not a guaranteed next day delivery service so please allow up to 3 working days to receive your order. All of the baked goods are individually wrapped for freshness to allow for a slight delay in your delivery. We will not be offering refunds for delayed dispatch or Delivery.

    If you have any issues with your order, then please let us know after 3 working days have passed. If an item is lost or states ‘delivered’ when we check the tracking but you don’t have the goods, we will put a claim in with Royal Mail and will update you when we have a response from them.

  • I need to cancel/ amend my order, what should I do?

    If you have placed a postal order with us and wish to cancel/ amend, you must do this more than 24 hours before the dispatch day. If you try to cancel/ amend within 24 hours of dispatch then we can’t issue a refund as your order will already be in the baking/ packing process. To cancel or amend your order, you must email enquiries@bigbakesbakery.co.uk please state ‘cancel order or amend order’ in the email title so we can try and pick it up as soon as possible.

    If you need to cancel a large pre order then please get in contact with us as soon as possible through email. If you cancel more than 2 weeks in advance then we give a 50% refund, if we have less than 2 weeks’ notice you will receive 25% refund. Orders cancelled with less than 1 week notice will not receive a refund.
